Limitless, Ansal Plaza, Delhi: Know No Limits

Ansal Plaza on Khel Gaon Marg it seems is slowly becoming the Cyberhub of Delhi. With a variety of eateries opening there one hopes it will become a buzzing place in times to come. However while the process of more restaurants coming up continues it would also be nice to see the entire facade of Ansal Plaza getting a face lift making it more appealing. The latest addition to the hub is Limitless CookHouse and Bar. Limitless is an all day bar and kitchen offering an indoor and outdoor dining experience.

Limitless aims to target a wholesome dining experience along with a beautiful terrace and bar for party lovers. Spread over two levels they have a seating capacity of 200 people which in itself speaks of it’s spaciousness. Prior to our visit we were aware of their terrace sitting and knew we wanted to enjoy the meal experience soaking in the winter sun. The terrace is their forte, beautifully done up with a lovely floral entrance and greenery around adding freshness to the open space, taking you into a dreamy mood. The outdoor seating at the lower level which is also beautified with hanging planters adds a lovely view leading to the terrace making it a visual treat. The wooden floored terrace with lamp posts must be looking even more beautiful in the evenings along with patio heaters to add to the comfort.

Limitless offers modern Indian cuisine to their diners. With time Indians have begun to enjoy international cuisines but still remain desi at heart. Ritika Chona, one of the partners at Limitless and the main person behind the kitchen has thoughtfully worked out the dishes offering diners a combination of both. While in conversation with her we learn of her transition from a corporate career to home chef to now Limitless. One look at the menu and we notice there is a limited selection of dishes. We are told this is deliberate as their idea is to bring something new onto the menu every few days thus offering diners a variety each time they visit.

Limitless is still awaiting their drinks license and so we start straight with the food and some mocktails. Moreover when one is so lost in the beauty of the place and enjoying the feeling of sitting at a skyscraper then drinks really don’t play much on the mind. We get to view a list of dishes available from what is a temporary menu as their printed menus are still to arrive.

Our starters are Truffle french fries with makhni dip, Bengali fish croquettes with mustard and lemon aioli, Crispy tofu crostini with soya glaze and microgreens quite enjoyed the crostini which had just the right amount of thickness and loved it for it’s beetroot flavour, achari kathal galaouti with sheermal which was very interesting and more so with a dash of lemon. My favourite starter was Charred Prawn Masala, prawns served on papdi. I found it quite interesting except that the size of the prawns could have been smaller to make it a one bite eat.

We left the choice of the main course dishes to the Chefs recommendations. Butter Chicken with khasta naan, Laal maas with taftan bread and Lahsuni spinach with mustard cottage cheese were our mains. Laal maas was beautifully presented and had just the right amount of spice though they do not use the authentic mathania red chilli used in the original recipe. To balance the spice they have incorporated mashed potatoes and pomegranate in it. Lahsuni spinach i have to admit i am not a spinach lover but i enjoyed every bite of the same with the interesting elements added on. It is served with potato crispies and pomegranate. While i enjoyed the dish i would have preferred a plain naan along with it rather than a stuffed corn kulcha. Most of the concoctions to the dishes are interesting with portion sizes being good.

This definitely is the perfect weather for a terrace outing ,so don’t set any limits for yourself step out and enjoy Limitless. Get your doze of limitless vitamin D amidst a beautiful ambience during the day and for a lovely romantic winter evening experience with live music.
