Ka Eclairs, Sector 18, Noida: Desi to Videsi

Desi Vibes has been a popular restaurant offering Mughlai and North Indian cuisine over a decade.  Located at the Sector 18 market which is a prime location of Noida it is the most buzzing market to visit for eateries. The restaurant has two more outlets now one in Connaught place and the other in the Defence Colony market both of which are eating hubs.

Kaffiaa was another venture by the owners that offered Italian fare on the ground level of the same premises in Noida. However with bakery products gaining popularity in the Indian market, they decided to enter into this arena too. Hence Kaffiaa got converted into Ka Eclairs Kafe around three months ago. In addition to the Italian fare which consists of soups, pastas, pizzas, burgers , coffee, smoothies etc  their prime focus is now on bakery products. The inclusion of the word eclairs in the name is due to the fact that offer wide variety in the menu.

Ka Eclairs Kafe is covered over two levels. The ground level is their bakery section which appeals to the eyes instantly not only due to the rich, fresh bakery products you see as you enter but a neat display of the same along with the beautiful effect on the ceiling all in pink with cylindrical looking elements hanging from there. In this section they not only have well crafted pastries and cakes but cookies, chocolates, tarts, cupcakes ,  various spreads and kinds of hampers which would be ideal for X’mas and New Year gifting.

The cafe is in the basement level. As you walk down the first look at it and you realise that the place has still an incomplete look and while they have redone some bit of the interiors, neither it follows any theme nor the look has been completed at the ceiling. However I did like a beautiful mirror frame on one of the walls and a clock on another wall. Nothing else really appealed in terms of the interiors.

Coming to the food part of it in winters the best thing to start with is a soup and what better than the evergreen cream of chicken. The soup was good in taste, but for the consistency which was too thick. We wanted black pepper which was not readily available at the table and took sometime to reach us. Our choice of salad was the grilled chicken salad which is served warm with lots of veggies in it. The salad was nice and quite filling.

Our next two eats were the best choices of the evening. Golden chicken burger and spicy pink primavera pasta. The burger which has chicken breast fillets dipped into house made seasoned flour and buttermilk are fried to perfection. It was perfect in taste and the fries offered along were also good. The pasta with a flavour of red and white sauce mixed was very tasty and turned out to be one of those dishes that you’d like to completely wipe off.

At Ka eclairs how could we not try eclairs itself so we decided to try one and what better than trying the original eclair. When one talks about elements of a perfect eclair the filling and crust both are equally important. What we found was while the filling was nice in taste and freshness the eclair crust could have been more moist and soft. The cheesecake was yummy. Loved every bite of it.

All in all it was a mixed bag experience with some real nice eats and somethings which have room for improvement. Their portion sizes certainly are good and the extremely pleasant service requires a special mention. When the staff serving you wears a constant smile on their face they certainly deserve to be acknowledged and in this case it was one of their lady server.

Whether you are looking for desi khana or videsi food head to the Ka Eclairs building and you will get everything under one roof. What more can a customer ask for in terms of convenience of choice.
