Sunday Champagne Brunch at SEN5ES, Pullman, Gurgaon

InteriorsAlmost two years ago I visited SEN5ES (Read previous experience) at Pullman to try their lunch buffet and was impressed. Since then I have been to Pullman couple of times to La Riviera but somehow never visited SEN5ES. While it now offers champagne Sunday brunch, I cannot resist the temptation.

The natural lighting and outdoor green view always made SEN5ES much more appealing and it is still its strength. The entry road is now much widened and it is such a relief accessing this place more easily.

What changed?

12 hour cooked lamb leg & 4 hour roasted chickenThe spread is more or less as exhaustive as earlier. However the cold sea food like muscles, prawns etc are conspicuous by its absence. This has been replaced with two dishes which more than make up for it…a 12 hour cooked lamb leg and a four hour roasted chicken. Both of them delicious and one can make the entire meal out of just these 2 brilliant roasts. From the Pan Asian section I enjoyed the black pepper beef and fish in spicy Shanghai sauce.

Duck KhurchanSEN5ES has also included excellent duck khurchan and appam with stew in Indian section. No one does khurchan and that too duck khurchan in Gurgaon. This one is made so well, that if I was not to taste other dishes, I would end my journey at this counter. One must try the new crab omelette that is offered at SEN5ES.

Lastly, giving to the market trends, Pullman has too stopped all inclusive pricing. Now like anyone else, taxes are extra.

What remained?

Chaat CounterThe pizza, pasta and customised soup counters are the same as ever and so are the chaat, salad and cheese counters. I did not try any of these and like any other Indian, kept my attention on more expensive dishes 🙂

In the dessert section, teppanyaki icecream has always been my favourite and I would not miss it for anything.

What’s Missing?

Khus Juice & RoohafzaThere is a variety of dishes. Much more than anyone can ever eat in one or may be few visits. However, in a brunch I always feel fresh juices are a must. So while SEN5ES now offers khus sherbet and Roohafza, I hope they reintroduce fresh juices in the spread. And if the steaks are in too, I will be delighted.

Liquor CollectionThere are few places that offers consistent quality buffet over the years and Pullman is certainly one of them. Needless to say there were equally interesting vegetarian options but being a hardcore non vegetarian, I stuck to what I liked the most. At the prices, unlimited champagne and the quality, this certainly remains a must visit option for all foodies.
