Shri Maharashtra Food – Mahagun Metro Mall, Vaishali

[Rated: 4/5]Akin to fellow countrymen, I feel blessed to be born in India. While inheritance of rich culture, traditions and customs makes me proud, diversity and vivid variety of dance, music, architecture, landscapes and above all existence of multiple cuisine and food diversity leaves me astounded.
As a foodie, I love to try out all sorts of cuisine and dishes. Last weekend I happened to visit Mahagun Metro Mall with my family and observed a new outlet in Food Court by the name
“Sri Maharashtra Foods”. Their menu matches the name and they serve authentic Mahatashtrian food.
I decided to try out Jhunka Bhakar, a staple Maharashtrian household food. Since it was my very first visit to this outlet, I was sceptical if the chef will be able to live up to my expectation and serve an authentic taste. As it was taking time for my order to get served, I inquired and was informed that fresh dow for Bhakar was done on every order. This statement increased my curiosity and I must admit and all my cynicism turned into pleasure and the wait seemed the worth with the very first bite of dish. I was excited to taste the authentic taste of Jhunka, a dry Besan (Gram flour) dish with hot Bajra (Millet) Bhakar. Other assortment of vegetables served were Batata Bhaji and Bharma Baingan ki sabji along with Raita (curd mixed with cucumber), Lahsun (Garlic) Chatni, Pudina (Mint) Chatni and Hari Mirch ka Achaar (Green Chilli Pickle).
Other dishes ordered by us included Vada Pav, Pav Bhaji and Sabut Dana Vada which are popularly available in Delhi, and the taste of these items at Sri Maharashtra Food was second to none.
The cost Junka Bhakar was Rs 110, Vada Pao was priced at Rs 55 and the cost of Sabudana Vada and Pav Bhaji was Rs 60 & Rs 70 respectively.
I liked my dish to the extent that I went up to the stall and thanked the Chef for serving such a good taste, where I learnt it is the same chain who also has a Maharshtraian Stall at Delhi Haat.  I would definitely like to try out the other authentic dishes like Thalipith, Misal Pav,Kolhapuri Dhapata, Dabeli, Sabudana Khichdi and Puranpoli served by them.
Rating:
Food : 4/5 (Outlet since is in a mall, it has only been rated on food)
Meal for two: Rs 250 (including drinks)
Wait time: 5-10 min for food to be prepared
