Survo Khiya (Egg Shorba)
Survo Khiya is an Irani dish. Survo means Shorba and Khiya means Egg.
4 eggs (beaten)
2 potatoes, cut into medium cubes
2 onions, chopped
1 tsp jeera/cumin seeds
1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
1 tsp haldi/turmeric powder
1 tsp dhana jeera powder/coriander & cumin powder
2 Maggi stock cubes, chicken or veg
3 glasses water
Salt, to taste
Coriander for garnishing
In a pressure pan, add oil, add jeera, add onions and fry till golden brown.
Add haldi, dhana jeera, ginger garlic paste, Maggi cubes and fry well.
Add the potatoes and mix. Add water and salt and pressure cook (1 whistle).
Then open the pan, give a boil and slowly add the beaten eggs and wait for a minute, then stir. Again give a nice boil and garnish with coriander.
NOTE: After adding the eggs, wait n then stir. If u wait then lovely dollops will be formed. This is best eaten with Paav, Irani style or you can have it as a soup.
