A queue at the door waiting to be seated, Mediterranean style white and blue interiors, blackboards as table tops, great music, an extensive starter menu that spanned across four pages – these were my first observations as I stepped into the recently opened bar called the Hoppipola in Powai’s Galleria mall.

I don’t know why I had avoided dining at Mistral despite hearing good things about the restaurant. Maybe it had something to do with its location in a mall. But when I do finally try it out, I can’t think of a single reason for not going back!
Even though we celebrate three new years in the span of a year, Parsi’s are a bit thin on the festival front. This is one of the reasons why we jump at celebrating just about anything.
Going back home to Delhi always reminds me of the quote “Cooking is Love made Edible”. Mom’s Dal, Chicken, Roti brings about tremendous sense of comfort and happiness with every bite.
Last one year has seen interesting food festivals like the Palanpuri, French, German charcuterie Malvani, Goan & Thai amongst others being hosted at the Sofitel under Chef Saha´s guidance. With each successive event, Sofitel has progressively consolidated its position as a food destination despite sharing the location with standalone giants like Masala Library and Yauatcha.
If I was to ask you about Burritos or enchiladas, you would probably recognize them from the several Mexican and Tex Mex joints around India; but if I was to ask you about papas a la huancaina, Platano frito, rabos, habichuelas and feijoadas, you would not only have difficulties pronouncing the names but also have difficulties identifying the dishes from any of the diverse culinary offering available around India.
The Aperitivo menu that was put out to us by the chef at Olive was outstanding and went excellently with the beer.
