How many of us want to cook at home, but change our mind at having to shop for all the ingredients and then search for the recipe? More so when there are guests coming over whom we would like to wow with our cooking prowess? I certainly am often faced with such dilemmas.

This is where the recently started service Cookfresh comes in. With their ingredients delivery service that gives you the tools you need to be a gourmet chef at home. So no longer hours of prep work or the hassle of finding a recipe and then shopping for the ingredients. They deliver these ready to cook gourmet meals to your doorstep. They offer 16 different Italian, Thai and Indian meals for two with prices ranging from Rs 349-Rs 649.

Here’s how things work. One first goes to their website www.cookfresh.in and pick a recipe. The menu has been carefully designed by their chefs to offer meals which are delicious and easy to prepare. Once that is done they deliver fresh ingredients, packaged hygienically in exact quantities required. Then all one has to do is to follow their recipe cards to cook a dish at home in under 45 minutes.

So when the man behind cookfresh, Raghav Kohli suggested that I try them out, I chose to do so with the quintessentially Burmese Khao Suey (Rs 449).  I followed all the directions, added some more toppings to the Khao Suey, and half an hour later was ready with a fresh and rather tasty meal.

Going forward, Cookfresh plans to introduce a dedicated salads and desserts section, along with an organic ingredients menu. They will also be introducing a subscription model wherein a customer will receive 3 boxes on a weekly basis with new recipes each time.

Most seafood menus try to impress you with ingredients. This one at Le Cirque wins you over with how those ingredients are treated. Even before the first course arrives, the space sets the tone. Warm lighting, plush seating, white table cloth, and that open kitchen quietly at work. It feels luxur…
