Chef Salvatore Salis, New Italian Chef @ The Westin Gurgaon, New Delhi

We were invited for a cooking workshop with Chef Salvatore Salis who has been recently appointed as the Italian Chef and will be leading the culinary team at Prego, Westin Gurgaon’s signature Italian restaurant. Born and raised in Sardinia, Italy Chef Salis was at ease with the food bloggers and happily taught some of his tricks. He has over 10 years of rich experience and having worked in places such as The Romanos Resort, The Luxury Collection in Greece and other luxury hotels in Europe, Salvatore’s ease in the kitchen comes naturally. Being extremely passionate about fine dining & Italian cuisine, Chef Salvatore even served as a consultant in the creation of a new restaurant concept for Italian cuisine at The Village in Doha.

Prior to joining The Westin Gurgaon, New Delhi he served as the Chef de Cuisine at Gecko Lipe Resort, Koh Lipe Thailand. A few highlights of Chef Salvatore’s career include increasing the restaurant Tentazioni at Kempinski’s customer base by 80% and handling the entire kitchen operations.

While we cooked with the chef and learn to make the pesto and Milanese style chicken breast, I just could not help but notice a poster that had a very attractive deal for its diners at Prego. There is an exclusive 4 course menu at just Rs1299++ for lunch per person running between Monday to Friday. Prego’s Set Lunch offers meat lovers a choice of Prego Caesar, Tagletelle al bianco di pollo, Pizza al pollo while vegetarians have an option of Spaghetti alle verdure, Penne all Arrabbiata and Pizza primavera for their main course.

So now you have 2 reasons to check out Prego – The new chef and its set menu.
