Imperfecto, Hauz Khas Village, Delhi: Launch

DSC06540I couldn’t stop smiling at receiving a launch invite for a new Mediterranean Restaurant called ‘Imperfecto’ at Hauz Khas Village. While everyone is trying hard to portray they are the best, who has the courage to call itself imperfect.

Located just bang the entry of Hauz Khas Village and covering almost 4 floors (of which 1 is kitchen), this restaurant is hard to miss. Climbing three levels to reach the restaurant, I was surprised to see Imperfecto buzzing with action at 9.30pm for a party which was supposed to start at 9pm. I mean who reaches so well in time.

DSC06537The ribbon was soon cut by Her Highness Consul of Spanish Embassy – Ms Paloma Serra Robles and the party began. Lovely foot tapping live music included some Spanish dancers which set the tone for the evening. The decor certainly had a character and each floor was so different yet bonded with a common theme. My focus, as always, remained more on food.

DSC06532Chef Nuria Rodriguez, ex Head Spanish Chef at Olive Beach, has joined Imperfecto, and was being the perfect host. Meeting everyone individually to see they are comfortable apart from ensuring that none of the guests have their drink or plate empty at any point in time. The staff’s visiting cards have a great recall value, with everyone having their own B&W childhood picture. Everything seems to be impeccably planned.

DSC06533I stayed for over two hours and the place only getting packed still I could only hear laughter and smiles all over. If this is any indication, we all are in for a lovely place. I have always loved Nuria’s preparation and accompanied with great ambience this place is to watch out for. And if this is an Imperfect world, I’d rather live in this.

Address: Imperfecto, 1A/1, Hauz Khas Village, New Delhi-16
