Cocoa House, Galleria, Gurgaon

[Rated:3.0/5]

Cocoa House InteriorsI am back at Cocoa House, but this time at their newly opened outlet at Galleria. A relaxed and cozy café ambience, mixed with peppy music without being loud, has seen Cocoa House expand from 1 outlet at Sohna Road to 4 outlets within a year.

The menu has gone through a little bit of change while maintaining the dishes which can satisfy foodies at large. Apple Beetroot Carrot JuiceThe dishes include mix of Thai, Continental, Italian, and other popular dishes including 100% log wood pizza. My drink, like last time, was ABC (120; Fresh apple, beetroot, carrot juice) and it satisfied that little streak of health consciousness still left in me. Moving forward, Super Nachos (225) were comforting without being great. What else can one expect from the commercial available nachos served at a restaurant?  Chicken Pesto Panini (199) in multigrain bread is a great accompaniment, however the salad served along was a little under-garnished. Italian Classic Panini with fresh cheese, basil and greens everything in good proportions.

Egg BenedictThe pasta in Penne Arabiata (230) was Al-dante but heavy usage of sauce made it look like Pasta Tadka maar-ke. Garlic bread served along was a welcome addition. Since Cocoa House is open for breakfast too, I ordered Egg Benedict, which has nice poached egg with hollandaise sauce, however I missed bacon which is usually served, and the muffin was too big, taking over the overall taste of the egg. Cottage cheese steak (299)was comforting and we liked the overall presentation.

Fig and Honey Icecream and Chocolate Lava CakeDesserts were a bit of disappointment. Chocolate Lava cake lacked flour, and it was more like a chocolate drink, while Fig & Honey ice cream (149) would have been great if it got a little more time to set.

In a new start-up normally there are teething issues, but I do see potential and would go back soon to eat that yummy and perhaps best Baby Lamb Shoulder (499) in G-Town.
