Mexican Tacos {Recipe}

Mexican TacosAre you brave enough to try making taco shells at home? Sangeeta makes it easy for us…this was one of the dishes from her recently hosted High Tea menu that we all drooled and sighed over. Enjoy!

FOR THE SHELLS

Makai ka atta, 1 1/2 cup

Maida, 1 cup

Oil, 3 tsps

Salt, 1/2 tsp

Mix it all. Then knead a dough with water. Not too dry, not too sticky. Roll out very thin. Prick it all over with a fork. Cut with a round cutter, and deep fry them. While still hot and in oil, fold it onto half with some gap so that you can fill it up.

FOR THE CHUTNEY

Green tomatoes, 2

Onion,1

Green chilies,2

Vinegar, to taste

Salt, to taste

Boil it with very little water. Cool, churn it. Add vinegar and salt to taste

ASSEMBLING/FILLING

I used baked beans as a filling, some shredded lettuce and spring onions and green tomato chutney.
