Prawn Masala {Recipe}

Prawn MasalaBeing a perfect man maybe an impossible dream to achieve for most men (not their fault, we women ask for the impossible!!) but Aalok Wadhwa sure won the perfect son-in-law award. Here is one of the recipes out of the spread he cooked for his mom-in-law this past weekend.. Enjoy

Prawns, medium size, 1/2 Kg
Chopped Indian red onions, 2 medium
Chopped tomatoes,2-3 medium
Ginger garlic paste, 2tsp
Cumin seeds, 1/2 tsp
Mustard seeds, 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves, 10-15
King’s curry powder, 2 tsp
Red Chili powder, to taste
Salt, to taste
Lemon Juice, abt 1/2 tsp
Oil, 1 tbsp

Take a kadhai and put some oil in it. Once it heats up, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds.

Once they start popping, add chopped onions, and cook till they go pink.

Then add ginger garlic paste, and lots of curry leaves. Once you smell ginger garlic, then add chopped tomatoes and let them cook.

Then add freshly ground cumin powder, curry powder, salt and red chili powder. Cook for a minute, then add the prawns and mix well so that prawns get coated with the masalas.

Take the kadhai off the fire after 4-5 minutes. Add a touch of lemon juice and garnish with coriander leaves before serving.
